Yuda Braun, front, and Jonathan Pelleg, performing "The White Soldier" in Jerusalem, Wednesday, Nov. 2. Dusan Vranic / AP

With such an ambiguous uniform, artist and former Israeli soldier Yuda Braun, walks in Jerusalem, Palestinian villages and Israeli settlements. “The white has various connotations and may be perceived as a symbol of purity,  surrender or even a deathly angel. The soldier is a charged image as well, which correlates to control and sovereignty, security and oppression…The reaction to him depends on the emotional-national identity of each individual.”
